The all-new 2016 Toyota Prius hybrid has been highlighted in spy photos, capturing the car without any camouflage. The leaks of the 4th generation hatchback have emerged just a month before its unveiling, which will take place during a press release in Las Vegas.

According to these images, the 2016 Toyota Prius looks similar to Mirai fuel-cell vehicle on the grounds of external design, which outlines an extreme manifestation of front end with sharp edges to enhance the car’s aerodynamic application. Moreover, the vehicle observes deep groove cut into the rear panels, which is also a design-inspiration derived from the Mirai.

The latest Prius hatchback looks more like a sedan, because the beltline almost runs horizontal across its length. This modification makes it more spindle-shaped, but as a result, the rear passengers have to suffer less exuberant roof space over their heads.

The 2016 Prius will be based on a new modular platform. The engine specifications include 4 cylinder line-up, while the electric motor will be powered by nickel-ion batteries, dropping lithium-ion batteries altogether. These changes are anticipated to improve the fuel efficiency of the Toyota hybrid car by 10 percent.

After the showcase at Las Vegas next month, the 2016 Toyota Prius will be displayed for public at the Los Angeles auto festival, but sales will commence in the first half of 2016.
