The all-new Toyota Prius is phasing through its fourth generation, which will debut at the Las Vegas festival, on September 8th. According to Automotive News, the latest hybrid car will boast extensive modifications to completely change its current look.

There is no official word from the company on its production or specifications, but the recent photo-leaks give us an idea about its appearance. The upcoming hybrid has undergone extensive aerodynamic changes, and apart from minor touches in the body style, the monocoque has also been elongated. Additionally, the cabin space has been refurbished with a new set of infotainment features like the central LCD display and the gear handle have been relocated further down on the dash.

The all-new 2016 Prius will also incorporate Japanese automaker’s native TGNA platform, and the latest line-up will also cut down on production costs because of the shared elements. The more compact and lighter chassis could enhance its EPA ratings to 57.5 miles per gallon, which is good for drivers in the UAE where oil prices have recently gone up.

The new Toyota Prius 2016 will come in two versions; the first variant carrying a nickel-metal hydride battery while the other housing a lithium-ion battery for improved mileage. Reportedly, a plugin model might be also on the way. According to latest statistics, the hybrid cars are facing tough time on their sales in the US, hopefully the new Prius will change the picture. Likewise, with people looking to save money on fuel in the UAE, the Prius might be a viable option for them.
