At Monterey this week, RM Auctions sold the very first Bugatti Veyron for 1.815 million dollars. Bearing chassis # 001, this was the flagbearer of the line-up that still holds the record of world’s fastest production car (made by Veyron Super Sport), the production of which concluded last year with the 450th unit sold to a Middle East customer.
It is amazing though that this special piece has never been noted before despite being the first Veyron. Anyway, the car houses a 16 cylinder quadro-charged 987 hp engine that helps it achieve a maximum velocity of 253 mph, which seem predated because the models over the years were made to carry better configuration.
Nonetheless, the first Bugatti Veyron now also enjoys the privilege of first ever Veyron to become a collectors car.
