It’s official – there will be no Touareg Hybrid coming out of the assembly lines. Instead, buyers will be treated to a price reduction on the original two-row Touareg 2016 – amounting to roughly $2,000 across the range. Thus, as per the new pricing, the entry-level Touareg will now cost $43,615, with an additional $910 destination charges.

For drivers’ delight, the Touareg has been given a few minor tweaks. The Lux model will now include a 14-way power seats with built-in ventilation. The Executive trim level keeps those seats and add a power-adjustable steering column, forward collision warning with emergency automatic braking, adaptive cruise control and lane-departure warning. Finally, the Touareg Sport’s Driver Assistance Package will offer a special park distance control.

Powertrain options are for now limited to either a 3.6-litre V6 with 280 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque or a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 diesel with 240 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, while an eight speed automatic transmission is offered across the range as a standard.
