Kia has postponed the production of its high-end coupe model until 2017. The yet nameless car that first appeared as 2011 Kia GT concept is designed by Peter Schreyer.
Auto Express reports that the future Kia coupe will feature a high-end V8 engine, apart from 4 and 6 cylinder units with the rear wheel drive layout. A hearsay also claims that the automaker would chiefly target US market.
Since the production model will be based on the previewed GT concept, the details of the latest car will closely coincide with it. The concept featured prominent carbon fibre sills and wheel fins, while the controls were located in its OLED glass-panel. Though it also contained suicide doors, but they will not be included in the production model. The design couldn’t be better as with Peter Schreyer, the head of the design team.
The delay could only mean that Kia is buying more time only to make the car better, and when it will finally arrive in 2017, it will go head to head with road icons like Audi A7 and Porsche Panamera.
