Nismo, the motorsports and performance division of Nissan has been long providing us with modified and more enhanced vehicles such as Juke Nismo and GT-R Nismo, and the good news is, we might get to see one more Nismo tuned vehicle, the 2016 Maxima.
Currently, the 2016 Nissan Maxima carries a 3.5-litre V6 powertrain combined with a CVT transmission that generates 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque. Expect the Nismo team to pump up those numbers for tuned Maxima making them around 330 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The transmission system can be replaced with a six-speed dual clutch with paddle shifters.
Power upgrade is not only thing, the Maxima might receive cosmetic upgrades too, which will probably include new wheels, and a body kit that will reduce the car’s height plus a rear spoiler giving the Maxima a sportier look.
We have an optional SR trim for the Maxima available in the market, featuring a much sportier design than the base model, so the automaker might wait to see how it performs in the market and then might work towards releasing a Nismo-tuned Maxima.
