The first ever SUV to come out of Jaguar, the 2016 Jaguar F Pace prototype made its debut as Team Sky’s Support Car at Stage One of the Tour de France in Utrecht. Though still sporting a camouflage somewhat, the appearance gave millions of onlookers at the venue and around the world a chance to see what the car is meant to look like.
Fitted with a bike rack, this vehicle is designed specifically to carry two of Team Sky’s Pinarello Bolide Time Trial bikes and thereby supports five of its team members.
Due to go on sale in 2016, the car’s first appearance was confirmed back in April 2015, while the official launch will be in September 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car is expected to feature a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine, dubbed as the most powerful version of the F Pace ever to go on sale.
Competing against Porsche’s Macan and BMW X4, the company is hoping to produce a total of 200,000 units a year.
