The all-new Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has been in the news for quite some time now. As 2016 is approaching, new pieces of information are coming together to build a final image. The latest update lifts the veils from its price (for non plug-in hybrid), which would start from $26,000, excluding $825 shipping charges.
The Hyundai Sonata hybrid boasts a combined EPA rating of 42 mpg, housing a 2.0L GDI 4-cylinder DOHC engine that is able to generate 154 horsepower and 140 lb-ft or torque, while the electric motor supports it with additional 51 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque, generating a combined 193 horsepower at 6,000 rpm (202hp for plug-in hybrid). The car has all the features of a modern sedan, including a fashionable monocoque and customisable interior.
In addition, the 2016 Sonata Hybrid Limited comes at $30,100, with 16-17inch alloy wheels, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, all-leather interior and HID Xenon headlights.
Sonata’s hybrid version will be competing directly with 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid which costs $25,675 and the 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid, which is offered at a starting price of $30,125.
