The American automaker Dodge, is planning to increase the production of its most popular super-charged V8 Hellcat engine that is known to produce a horsepower of 707.
This year the company had to stop taking any further orders of the Hellcat models, since the production was not able to meet the demands. The CEO of the company, Tim Kuniskis made a comment saying that the decision to increase the production will help to tackle the increasing demand of these engines in the next year.
Talking about the overall sales, the company sold around 88,000 cars in 2015. Out of these, 4,000 were Hellcat models, but since it takes a longer time to produce a Hellcat engine, this creates a problem for the other cars in the line-up. A Hellcat engine is tested through a dynamometer for 42 minutes before placing it into the car.
Currently, the 2015 Dodge Charger and 2015 Dodge Challenger are equipped with Hellcat engines.
