German Mercedes-Benz tuner Brabus has introduced a hot-rodded version of the Mercedes-Maybach S600. The most impressive changes are found in the engine bay, where Brabus has installed a bored and stroked 6.3-liter V12 engine fitted with a billet crankshaft, balanced connecting rods, forged pistons and pair of huge turbochargers. When all is said and done, the V12 churns out 887 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and an earth-shattering 1,106 lb-ft. of torque at 4,200 rpm. In comparison, the stock S600’s 6.0-liter V12 makes 523 horsepower and 612 lb-ft. of torque.
Executives in a hurry will be delighted to know the 5,300-pound Brabus-massaged S600 can reach 100 kmph from a stop in 3.7 seconds – nearly on par with a Ferrari California T – before going on to a top speed of over 349 kmph. A tweaked version of Mercedes’ camera-based Magic Body Control suspension helps keep the behemoth firmly planted on the ground.
The S600 can be further upgraded with a full body kit consisting of a deep front bumper with a splitter and three large air vents, side skirts and a model-specific rear bumper with four chromed exhaust tips. 21-inch alloy wheels add a sporty touch to the overall look, though Brabus stresses low-key buyers can keep the stock Maybach alloys.
Similarly, nearly every aspect of the interior is fully customizable. One of the highlights from the list of options is an upgraded infotainment system that Brabus builds in-house using Apple components.
Brabus’ heavily-modified Mercedes-Maybach S600 is on sale now across Germany, but how much of a premium it carries over the $200,000 sedan it’s based on is not known.
