China has been buying more Mercedes cars than ever. The sales of the Mercedes Maybach S600 is blooming as the automaker is selling around 500 units of this 1.44 million yuan (US$230,000) luxury sedan each month, which is the same as the number of total Maybach cars sold around the globe in one year.

The sales chief of the Daimler AG unit, Ola Kaellenius, made a comment saying that the sales of Mercedes cars is developing very well in China. He also stated that the Maybach is a much reasonable choice for wealthy buyers who would otherwise opt for other luxury brands such as Rolls-Royce or Bentley.

What attracts the most to rich buyers include spacious legroom and luxurious hand-made silver-plated champagne glasses that add to the beauty of the interior.

Seems like Mercedes is working hard to make its spot in the Chinese automotive market by competing well with its rivals BMW and Audi. As the sales are increasing, Ola Kaellenius is confident that the company will also be able to beat its competitors in overall annual sales number.
