Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles, in an attempt to reinvent the Alfa Romeo brand, will include a Ferrari-derived V6 engine as part of the new Alfa Romeo Guilia sedans. While talking at a recent Maserati event in Italy, Alfa Romeo and Maserati boss, Harald Wester claimed German cars to be ‘cold’ and ‘without soul’; with the addition of elements like the Ferrari engine, he said that future Alfa Romeos will be sold on personality and allure, rather than Teutonic efficiency.
This isn’t the first time Alfa Romeo has featured a Ferrari engine as part of its long list of things to offer; the 8C Competizione used a version of Ferrari’s F136 V8. The Giulia’s V6 will be distributed to extended markets. The car is expected to be a rear-wheel drive and is presently being manufactured at a place no one knows.
Alfa is looking to sell 400,000 units annually by 2018. The car is expected to go on sale in the spring of 2016.
