We may have the most sinister looking super cars available in the market now, but one can never underestimate the .performance and spark of the cars from 80s. One such rare sports car is the Porsche 959, which was built by the German automaker from 1986 to 1989, and the good news is, it’s now going up for auction.

The Porsche 959 became the fastest production car when it was introduced decades ago. Its twin turbo-charged engine could accelerate this super car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 195 mph. The automaker built only 300 units of the 959, and one of them, which is a black coloured 1988 Komfort, will be auctioned by Gooding & Company at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event, this August.

The powerful Porsche 959 was a huge success in its times and still maintains a prominent position among the vintage cars. The fact that the car’s estimated price will be about $1.8 million tells that people are still looking to get their hands on this rare sports car.
