Dubai traffic police have introduced a new service whereby the drivers who break the traffic laws can pay their due fine in installments on the condition that they don’t have any previous criminal financial record.
Colonel Saif Al Mazroui said in the daily Al Bayan newspaper that the foreigners who have their cars registered in Dubai and people from other UAE cities with their car registered in their respective city, can both use this facility.
He further mentioned that the drivers will be required to pay Dh 5,000 first up and the rest of the amount can be covered over a time span of 12 months. But, the companies will have to pay an initial installment of Dh 20,000. A longer time duration to pay the fine will also be provided if the amount is exceeding Dh 30,000 for personal cars and Dh 250,000 for company cars.
In case a driver is not able to pay the installments on time, he will not be able to benefit from this service for the next 2 years.
