The automaker Fiat Chrysler is believed to manufacture a new Grand Cherokee model, surprisingly not with SRT nameplate, but in fact, with name “Trackhawk” – as said in a report by Car & Driver. The engine used will be the same V-8, generating 707 horsepower and 880 Nm of torque, as installed in other Hellcat vehicles such as the Dodge Charger and the Challenger SRT.
The report further mentions that the automaker obtained copyrights for the name Trackhawk last year and the upcoming 2017 Grand Cherokee might be the first to use the new name.
The Hellcat engine will give the vehicle a 230 horsepower boost making this Jeep reach from stationary to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds.
Rumours suggest that it will go on sale sometime in 2016 and will carry a price tag of $65,000 for the standard model, while the high-end version will obviously cost higher.
