Gumball 3000 rally, starting in Stockholm and culminating in Las Vegas, Nevada, attracts elite individuals from different cadres of society. It is considered the most flamboyant display of opulence. This year the rally will witness a breakthrough phenomenon in form of an Aston Martin DBS which has been painted using a unique UV formula. The formula bestows the car with a luminescent effect which is a treat to behold at night.
The person responsible for this achievement is Hamish Scott, a renowned figure behind various award winning UV innovations and founder of Nevana Designs. Hamish was approached by David Morgan, a native of Stockholm who wanted something unique “stand out in the crowd” effect for his vehicle participating in Gumball 3000.
According to Hamish, the formula can be applied to almost any surface like car bumpers, bikes, safety equipment etc, which needs prominence in the dark. Apart from aesthetics, the UV formula can prove to be a life saver for vehicles which break down on a dark road as the UV coated surface can be seen from miles away.
Hamish and Nevana Designs are said to be partnering with industry giants such as Samsung, Nissan and O2 to find more innovative and mainstream uses of the UV formula.
