Mazda’s fourth-generation MX-5 Miata, packed with a sportier, more fuel-efficient design, is expected to help revive interest in the roadster segment, that too, by instilling feelings of nostalgia of the original Miata with its latest spot, ‘A Driver’s Life’.

The video takes a look at several stages of a young man’s life; from the time he gets his driver’s license to when he buys his first car; a Mazda MX-5 Miata. All through his life, from teenage to adulthood until he eventually becomes a parent, the car remains as a fixture, thus providing emotional appeal to viewers familiar with the history of the brand.
The U.S version of Mazda MX-5 Miata will include a Skyactiv direct-injection 2.0-litre engine which will improve fuel economy to 27/34 mpg city/ highway for the automatic version. Despite the car’s horsepower being on the lower side – 155 hp to be exact – driving dynamics are expected to be better, thanks to a new chassis and lightweight suspension. Other features include a pop-up soft top and a nine-speaker sound system from Bose.
