Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently opened a new water taxi station near the Waldorf Astoria Hotel at the Palm Jumeira in Dubai. The water station aims to provide passengers with a relaxing and enjoyable experience while simultaneously adhering to safety and security standards laid out by Dubai authorities.
The water taxi is 11 metres long and 4 metres wide and can accommodate up to 11 passengers at a time. Its top speed is 35 knots and is fitted with two eco-friendly engines of 370 horsepower. Other features offered by the water taxi station include business class seats similar to those on an aircraft fitted with remotely controlled LCD monitors installed at the rear of the front seat. Each seat has the capability to recline up to 45 degrees. In addition, passengers are served with a tray of all varieties of food to help sustain their appetites throughout the journey.
With the water taxi station, Road and Transport Authority aims to offer an appealing picture of the city to both its residents and tourists who come to UAE from all across the globe.
