The annual Aston Martin auction, which is organised by auctioneers Bonhams at the Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, recorded a landmark sale this year with revenue of £10 million. The auction featured 50 classic Aston Martins and some 170 other items related to the world of automobiles.
The most expensive car was the 1966 Aston Martin DB5 Convertible in Vantage specification which was sold for £1,524,700 followed by the 1962 DB4 Series IV Vantage Convertible which was once owned by actor and film maker, Sir Peter Ustinov. It was sold for a total of £1,513,500 including premiums.
Other cars included in the auction were the 1958 Aston Martin DB Mark III Sports Saloon and the 1990 Virage Coupé sold for £104,540 and £23,000 respectively.
Visitors got a chance to display their own cars as well as explore the Aston Martin facility, which is a historic home of the car maker and serves for purchasing, servicing and restoration of cars from every era of the marque’s 102 years.
