As a gesture of appreciation for Saudi fighter pilots, participating in the fight against Yemen via the country’s bombing campaign, Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, one of the world’s richest men as well as a member of the Saudi royal family, offered to donate 100 Bentleys.

Described by TIME magazine as the ‘Arabian Warren Buffet’, the Saudi Prince made this pledge via Twitter, resulting in nearly 28,000 people sharing the post. Although some people celebrated the gesture and commemorated the Saudi prince’s actions, many others, particularly those from Yemen, showed massive anger and discontent, claiming the prince was out of touch with the devastation caused in the area, which has so far claimed up to 1,000 lives. Although Saudi media outlets later claimed that the prince’s Twitter page had in fact been hacked, there has been no comment on behalf of the prince in this regard.

The wealthiest member of the Saudi royal family with investments in companies such as CitiGroup, Apple and Time Warner, Prince Al-Waheed bin Talal previously gifted a fleet of luxury cars to the players and staff of the Nasr football club, after it won the Saudi football league.
