The all-new 2015 Kia Sedona has received an overall 5 star rating from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in the front-impact, side-impact and pole crash tests with four stars in the rollover test.
The 5 star rating proves that the vehicle employs exceptional safety features and a powerful body. Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning at Kia Motors said that the NHTSA’s rating testifies Kia’s commitment to safety. The families planning for summer vacations should feel satisfied with the engineering involved in the bodywork, since the NHTSA has validated the vehicle with the highest rating.
The Korean automaker’s minivan is powered by a 3.3-litre V6 engine producing 276 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. The updated chassis with static torsional stiffness uses 76 percent more Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), thus increasing the overall rigidity and durability of the vehicle’s body.
