Some leading European, Japanese and American car brands have initiated a mass recall of their cars’ models from all over the UAE citing problems in their internal mechanisms. These include faults in the cars’ steering columns, fuel injectors and fuel pumps. As per directives given by the Consumer Protection Department at UAE’s Ministry of Economy, all companies are required to conduct a thorough review of their products to ensure they meet customers’ safety standards.

The cars being called include Nissan’s GT-R, Qashqai, Infiniti EX and FX models, Ford 2015 Transit vehicles, 2013 Jaguar FX, Chevrolet Malibu, Cadillac ATS 2013-2015 models, Honda Civic, Honda Jazz, Honda Stream and Honda CR-V of 2003-2004 model year. Problems found in these vehicles ranged from rupture airbags, faulty fuel injector valves to weak steering columns. The automakers denied specifying the number of cars that will be called in.

This is not the first time an event such as this is taking place in the UAE. Just last month, the famous car brand Audi had to recall 1,000 of its vehicles due to a fault that could cause a possible fuel leak.
