Following the successful launch of 2016 Cadillac CT6 at New York Auto Show 2015, General Motors has hinted a hybrid variant of this luxurious sedan which could be released at Shanghai Auto Show 2015.

The officials have not yet revealed specifications of the car nor it is clear if the new CT6 will be a plug-in hybrid. In an interview to Autoblog, the product chief of General Motors, Mark Reuss said, “We’ve really got to wait until we finish rounding out the portfolio, the Shanghai show is where you should look for all of it. So stay tuned.”

Another Cadillac spokesperson refrained from making any further comments, but confirmed that GM will add variants to CT6.

The standard CT6 boasts a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine capable of delivering 265 HP, while range-topping twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine can generate 400 HP.

Although the hype new Cadillac having a hybrid engine is just a rumor, but the fact that CT6’s rival, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class hybrid is a plugin indicate that GM Motors will certainly release a hybrid version of this vehicle.
