Mobile phones no doubt cause disruption while driving yet we deem it our responsibility to pick the call or answer an SMS while on the go. For UAE alone, they cause half of youth car crashes and the figure is likely to jump in the time to come.
Dubai Police started a new traffic awareness campaign at Dubai College of Technology to dissuade young drivers not to use mobile phones while driving. Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, Assistant Chief of Dubai Police for Operations Affairs informed that they are working hard to implement new traffic regulations which will impose stricter penalties for motorists using mobile phones while driving.
We can always use hands-free or Bluetooth to receive calls and save ourselves the trouble.
