A recent photo posted on Korean automotive site auto.hankyung and later on India Autosblog claims that the sedan lookalike road runner shown in the photo is the next generation Hyundai Elantra.
The photo reveals a number of revolutionary improvements in the new 2016 Elantra. The grille has been entirely redesigned with a wide, trapezoidal shape. The headlights have also been changed given more angular look, along with vertical daytime LED lights. The car resembles greatly with Hyundai i40, but obviously, both differ in their workings and specs. It is likely to have been designed at the Hyundai Motor European design centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany.
Speculations are that the 2016 Hyundai Elantra will be powered by a latest 1.6-litre turbocharged, direct-injection four-cylinder engine. The power pumped out by this machine is expected to be 174 hp, and will be mated to either a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or a six-speed manual. The recently uncovered Tucson also sports the same powerhouse.
Hopefully, the Hyundai Elantra will be launched this April with 2016 model year.
