Acura is all set to bring a plethora of customisation options and equipment packages to compliment the upcoming 2016 Acura NSX hybrid sports car which is set to debut later this year.
Speaking to Edmunds.com at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, Mike Accavitti, senior vice president and general manager of Acura, expressed his excitement on company’s next supercar, promising more factory-installed options in both equipment and aesthetics to accompany it.
The NSX is all set to be the priciest model from Acura yet, with an estimated price tag of $150,000. For this price, buyers would get a beast rocking a twin-turbocharged V6 engine, electric motors, a Li-ion battery pack and a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Further details about all the available options are elusive for now, but the Acura GM did mention a choice between aluminium and carbon-fibre materials for its body. Features designed exclusively for tracks will also be optionally available.
A website is in development to help buyers configure their NSX according to their individual requirements before placing an order; it will launch in summer.
Acura also plans to train their sales personnel and provide them with sufficient knowledge about the NSX before it arrives in showrooms, thus to enable them satisfy customers looking for further information about all the technical aspects of the super car and its wide range of configuration options.
The NSX will hit the roads in the fall of this year, with pricing to be announced some time during the summer. The NSX will compete with the likes of Audi R8 V10 and Porsche 911 Turbo.
