General Motors has called out to stop the sales of 2015 Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia crossovers due to a fault in their Fortera HL tyres manufactured by Goodyear.

The decision came up as the tyre-maker informed GM of the tyres that developed small cracks in the tread during a routine endurance test. About 32,100 of these tyres have been provided for different Crossover vehicles currently marketed by the automaker, as a result nearly 6,281 units of all three models will be recalled from its representing dealers. On the other hand, Goodyear is going to recall 48,500 tyres, out of which 16,400 are replacement tyres and the rest are already affixed in GM’s full-size crossovers.

In a public statement released by Goodyear, the Fortera HL tyres (size P255/65R18 109S) manufactured between 30 November to 10 January, might become subject to tread cracking. Though no accidents were reported, but as a preliminary measure all the tyres will be recalled. Meanwhile, GM would continue to use other tyres for its vehicles.

Note that this recall is only issued in the United States and not in our region.
