What do you get when you drape vehicular perfection in glamorous Gulf livery color of pale blue and orange trim? The answer is, you get the online concept art for the new Ford GT which was unveiled at Detroit Auto Show couple of days back. Road and Track, Car Throttle, Yasid Design, and graphic artist Jon Sibal all replicated the GT in blue and orange.

The tantalizing glimpse of iconic successor of Ford GT series provided online lead to an inevitable question. How soon can this masterpiece be seen in action? Rumors have it that aficionados will get their first look at 2017 Ford GT in action at 24 Hours of Le Mans. There’s no surety though that it will have the same color scheme or even the exact same visage as depicted in the mock up images. However, this shouldn’t discourage privateers from customizing their prized vehicle in similar fashion.

Expressing his views about his company’s latest masterpiece, Raj Nair, Ford group vice president termed it as “blueprint for innovations and technology that might shape Ford’s future product portfolio”. The innovations and technology embedded in the supercar would be put to the ultimate test as it competes in Circuit de la Sarthe. The vehicle will have to strike a perfect balance to tackle downforce and drag generated by its massive 600+ HP twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine.

With 2017 GT, Ford continues to raise the performance bar and cements its position at the very top of the supercar market. Will it outperform its competition at Le Mans? That still remains to be seen.
