Mercedes-Benz has unveiled four concept vehicles previewing its upcoming Metris van. The Metris will go on sale in the United States market next fall.
The midsize commercial van will serve as the US and Canadian version of the Vito, which is already available in Europe and other markets.
The company teamed with RENNtech to create a “Party/DJ Van” concept, outfitted with a clamshell roof that opens and reveals a DJ platform.
HQ Custom Design focused on a luxury conversion, using the Metris as the basis for an executive shuttle. It features high-end audio/visual equipment and a focus on fine craftsmanship and a luxury riding experience.
The Fire Chief Concept Truck, built by RADO, shows how the van could be used by first responders. It has been adapted to serve as a mobile command unit, full of communications gear.
Crafted by Garmin, the Mobile Golf Pro Shop build integrates a golf simulator and infotainment system designed for personal or merchandising usage. Players can use the technology to evaluate their game.
The Mercedes Metris will make its production debut next March.
