Jeep and Harley-Davidson made a real impact as these two iconic American brands joined forces to celebrate their shared values – freedom and authenticity, passion and uniqueness, at the biggest bike party in town – the 2014 Beirut Bike Festival (BBF), which was held on the Beirut Waterfront from 19-21 September.

Gargour Automotive Company (GAC), the only authorized distributor of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram in Lebanon, created a very special one-of-a-kind Jeep Wrangler Harley Davidson Edition especially for the event, and the reveal of the vehicle on Friday 19th September attracted a huge crowd.

“Our Mopar® Performance Centre carried out all of the modifications to create the Jeep® Wrangler Harley-Davidson Edition, which is based on a Wrangler Unlimited Sport, in less than two weeks,” said Negib Debs, Chrysler Group General Manager at GAC.

“Among the many features, which included Harley-Davidson branding, a very special custom interior and colour coding, were special bumpers, fender flares, power hood, snorkel, a 4-inch MoparFox lift kit, Mopar off road black wheels with 35 inch mud terrain tyres and a 50 inch LED bar – people were amazed by the final result and couldn’t stop looking at it and taking photos – and alongside this unique Jeep was a special Harley-Davidson motorcycle – the CVO Softail Deluxe.”

GAC also displayed a full Jeep line-up, including the Grand Cherokee Limited, Cherokee Trailhawk, Wrangler Sport, Wrangler Unlimited Sahara and Wrangler Unlimited Sport.

Other highly popular attractions included live street art painting on two Jeep Wrangler hoods and grilles by the notorious Beirut-based graffiti artists ASHEKMAN – two designs were specially made for the event, one inspired by the iconic American eagle, combined with the Harley-Davidson logo and another created around the legendary Jeep 7slot grille incorporating Arabic calligraphy. The GAC team also spray tattooed visitors with designs that were in the shape of the Wrangler, Jeep 7 slot grille and the word Jeep.

“The Jeep Wrangler Harley-Davidson edition then took pride of place at the front of the Thunder Parade, which also featured 50 Harley-Davidson police bikes,” said Debs. “Needless to say, this one-of-a-kind Wrangler attracted a lot of admirers during the event – so much so that it was sold straight away!”

Built on over seven decades of legendary heritage, Jeep is the authentic sport-utility vehicle (SUV) with class-leading capability, craftsmanship and versatility for people who seek extraordinary journeys. In particular, the Wrangler has always been appreciated for its extraordinary ability to adapt to any situation, fromthe city to the most extreme off-road tracks – whether or not there’s a road.

“We were delighted with the enthusiastic response that we received from the huge crowd of visitors,” said Debs. “The excitement created when two truly global icons like Jeep and Harley-Davidson join forces was plain for all to see, and we’re happy that we were able to play our part in making the event so enjoyable for everyone that came along.”
