Audi Q3 is a compact executive crossover offered by Audi. Introduced in 2012, this is first generation model of the premium compact SUV. In November last year, the German automaker launched 2014 version of Audi Q3. As the car is already in the showrooms, let us find out its key specifications.
Powertrain and Performance
The Audi Q3 is offered in two specific trims, namely Audi Q3 30 TFSI and Audi Q3 35 TFSI. The first one is powered by a 2.0 litre four-cylinder TFSI® engine that produces 170 horsepower, while the second one also holds the similar engine but offers 211 horsepower. In both versions, the engine is accompanied with a permanent all-wheel drive quattro® and seven-speed S tronic transmission.
The performance of the 2014 Audi Q3 is unquestionable, as it reaches from zero to 100 km/h in 7.8 and 6.9 seconds, for the two versions. Moreover, the top speeds of the standard and high-performance versions are 212 and 230 km/h, respectively. The fuel economy however is same for both the versions with 7.7 litre/100km.
Design and Interior
The exterior of the new Audi Q3 has a sportier and progressive look, which is a blend of off-road and urban dynamics. A large portion of the fascia is occupied by a big central grill. On both the sides of this grille, are located the Xenon plus lamps, underlined by the LED daytime running lights. Similarly, the rear end of the compact crossover is wide, elegant and luggage-friendly.
The interior of the Audi Q3 is calm and spacious offering you premium level commuting experience. In addition to that, you can acquire this vehicle in nine different interior colours, with seats covered in leather. It can be used as a sports utility vehicle for its roomy cargo area.
Controls and Safety
The 2014 Audi Q3 encompasses a rich yet simple instrument panel allowing you to access all the functions with quite ease. To strengthen your control over the vehicle while driving, the package includes a cruise control system that comes to power after 30 km/h.

Other vehicles in the same tier, available in the UAE market, are BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class. Q3 in comparison to these vehicles is significantly cost effect. Regardless its less cargo capacity comparing to other vehicles in the same segment, the car offers a fun driving experience.
