Mercedes is showcasing the latest work of its AMG Performance Studio with a customized A 45 AMG with one too many pink accents baptized “Erika”. While the company doesn’t say whether the car was commissioned or built just to show what its customizing division can do, we strongly suspect it was ordered by a pink-loving customer who may be called… Erika.
Mercedes-AMG refers to the car as the “Pink Panther” of its product portfolio, and for good reason: there are pink accents everywhere. The grille and wheels have a pink contour, the sides of the car are decorated with a pink line ending in a graphic similar to a heart rate monitor, with parts of the mirrors and rear spoiler also painted pink. The exterior also features gloss black stripes.
The pink-fest continues in the cabin, where the Mercedes A 45 AMG “Erika” features pink contours on the air vents and floor mats, pink stitching and pink inserts on the sports seats as well as pink AMG logos on the door sills.
No details were offered regarding any performance upgrades, but we assume the A 45 AMG is in standard spec, meaning it’s powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 355 hp (360PS) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, mated to a 7-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch gearbox. 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 4.6 seconds and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
