Following itsĀ global unveiling at the Beijing Motor Show, Lexus’ all-new NX compact crossover has made a surprise appearance on the floor of the New York International Auto Show.
The NX wasn’t on hand for the press preview days on the New York show, but Lexus rolled out its latest utility model on Easter Sunday for show-goers to gaze at. The NX will remain on the Lexus stand until the conclusion of the New York show on April 27.
Lexus has not confirmed when the NX will reach dealer showrooms, but that Japanese automaker will offer two different versions of the crossover – the NX 200t turbo and the NX 300h hybrid. A performance-minded NX 200t F SPORT will also be available and include unique exterior and interior features.
The NX 200t will uses a 2.0L turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder tuned to deliver 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid model will pair a 2.5L four-cylinder with an electric motor for a combined output of 194 horsepower.
Although no concrete date is set, the Lexus NX is expected to go on sale this summer as a 2015 model. The NX will take on other luxury compact crossovers like the Mercedes-Benz GLA and BMW X1.
The NX will slot beneath the RX in Lexus’ utility lineup.
