General Motors has released fuel economy ratings for its latest Chevrolet- and GMC-badged full-size SUV models.
GM announced on Monday that its 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon and GMC Yukon XL models will be capable of hitting 25.75 kmpg in the city and 37 kmpg on the highway. Those ratings represent improvements of 7 and 10 percent, respectively, over GM’s 2014 models SUVs.
Those ratings are for two-wheel drive models powered by GM’s 5.3L V8. Adding 4WD lowers mileage to 25.75 / 35 kmpg.
GM says its 2015 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL Denali models, which use an up-rated 420 horsepower 6.2L V8, will be good for 24 kmpg around town and 33.8 kmpg on the highway. Although not stellar, those marks, which cover two-wheel drive models, are 2 and 3mpg better than last year’s models.
