Daihatsu has released images of two more kei concepts to be shown at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.

The quirkily designed and named Deck is a liquid fuel-cell micro-truck concept that looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. The pictogram in the name is pronounced “deko” and means “convex” in Japanese.

It’s power comes from what Daihatsu calls a “next-generation” compact fuel cell that uses no precious metals in its design. It’s located in the long, flat platform atop which the cab sits, in a configuration similar to the FC Sho Concept microvan that was shown at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.

The Deck also comes with portable standalone generators, available in two sizes that also provide 110-volt power (the standard for Japanese wall outlets).

The Daihatsu Deca Deca is a high-roof kei van built for outdoorsy types. Its exterior styling features rugged blockiness that suggests rugged utility a la Honda Element. The cabin is supposedly capable of a variety of seating configurations. Like the Element, the rear doors a rear hinged and open in suicide fashion for ease of loading and unloading equipment or gear.

No further details were released at this time, but the Deck and Deca Deca will join the Kopen concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show starting November 20.
