Porsche has unveiled the crown jewel of its 2014 Porsche Panamera lineup – the Turbo S.
The last of the 2014 Porsche Panameras to be revealed, the Turbo S was certainly worth the wait. The sports sedan has been fitted with a number of engine enhancements for 2014 – including larger turbos and pistons made from a new aluminium alloy – raising power from an already stout 550 horsepower to 570. The Turbo S offers 553 lb-ft of torque in normal mode, but can provide up to 590 lb-ft of twist on overboost
As a result of that added power, Porsche says the 2014 Panamera Turbo S can top out at a supercar-like 309 kmph.
Of course being the line’s range-topping model the Porsche Panamera S comes loaded to the gills, with standard equipment including Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes. The Panamera S also gets standard two-tone leather and 14-way power-adjustable front seats.
For those less interested in driving, the 2014 Panamera Turbo S range will also include a new Executive model for 2014 that provides 4.7-inches of extra rear-seat legroom thanks to a wheelbase that has been extended by 5.9-inches. The Executive also boast a few extra niceties, such as ventilated seats and an electronic roll-up sunblind.
The 2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S will make its world debut at next month’s Tokyo Motor Show.
