BMW is recalling more than 134,000 vehicles in the United States due to a rear lighting issue.
The German automaker announced on Friday that it is recalling 134,100 528i, 535i, 550i and M5 sedans in the United States from the 2008-2010 model years because those vehicles may have faulty taillights. According to BMW, a defect in the taillight wiring could increase resistance and cause the electrical contact points to fail.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration warns that the defect could cause one or both of the taillights to fail, which could increase the likelihood of a rear-end crash.
BMW has not linked any accidents or injuries to the recall.
BMW will remedy the problem by replacing the cars’ wiring free of charge. The recall is scheduled to begin ext month.
However, I am not sure of there is a recall anywhere in the Middle East but my brother in law car has the same issue. Better check with you local dealer if you faced this issue.
