According to a recent report, Honda is “seriously” considering an entry-level sports car.
Details are limited but the GT Channel says a source has confirmed the company was caught off-guard by the success of the Toyota GT 86 / Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ. As a result, they are reportedly considering an S1500 sports car that would be small and come equipped with either a 1.3- or 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It would reportedly be connected to a five-speed manual transmission which would send power to the rear wheels.
If everything pans out, the 900 kg (1984 lbs) sports car could be launched in 2015 or 2016.
