Ford has announced plans to auction the last 2014 Shelby GT500 Convertible at the Hot August Nights Auction in Reno, Nevada.
Since the car hasn’t been built yet, Ford will allow the winner to select any interior, exterior and stripe color combination. Indy 500 winner Parnelli Jones will be present at the auction and will personally sign the model.
All proceeds will benefit the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) which aims to “advance brain injury prevention, research, treatment and education and to improve the quality of life for all individuals impacted by brain injury.”
According to BIAA President and CEO Susan Connors, “Parnelli and Page [Jones] are some of our strongest voices in our advocacy efforts and we’re delighted to work together along with Ford and Barrett-Jackson for the sale of the Shelby.”
