Toyota has released the first pictures of the 2014 Harrier, ahead its debut later this year.

Designed to more luxurious than its predecessor, the Harrier has an evolutionary design which closely mimics the Lexus RX. Considering the two models have a history of being virtually identical, speculation suggests the Harrier could preview the next-generation RX.

Toyota didn’t have much to say about the model but it features a prominent grille and a large air intake that mimics the Avalon. The crossover also has a familiar greenhouse and a sportier tailgate with an integrated spoiler and slender taillights.

There’s no word on what will power the model but the hybrid badging suggests there will be at least one eco-friendly option.
