According to a recent report, Lexus is developing a sports car which could revive the SC name.

Details are limited, but Best Car magazine suggests the model will be a radical departure from the coupe-cabriolet that ceased production in 2010.

Our Japanese is a little rusty but the car will be heavily influenced by the LF-LC concept which Lexus’ U.S. vice president of marketing recently confirmed would be going into production. This could imply the LF-LC will adopt the SC name when it is launched.

Regardless of what happens, engine options will reportedly include a hybridized 3.5-liter V6 with 350 HP (257 kW) and a 4.6-liter V8 with 500 HP (367 kW).
