General Motors’ Opel division has partially revealed its upcoming Monza concept. The\u00a0two door show car will make its world debut at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

Opel is keeping the details of the Monza concept a secret until the start of the Frankfurt show, but the German automaker says the coupe signals the company’s future design direction. Opel says the Monza’s design languages exudes \u201cathleticism rather than pure muscle power.\u201d

Up front the Monza features a sculpted hood, a new front grille design and the company’s signature \u201cblades\u201d under the car’s headlights. Opel didn’t release any profile of rear-view shots of the Monza.

\"\"<\/a>Opel also failed to release images of the car’s interior, but the automaker promises the concept will feature \u201cground-breaking technologies for future infotainment and connectivity possibilities.\u201d That technology theme pays homage to the original Monza, which was the first vehicle to offer a digital dashboard display.

The Monza is believed to be based on the\u00a0Cadillac ATS’ platform, although the concept will likely feature an advanced drivetrain. In production the Monza is expected to offer a range of both gas and diesel powertrains.
