Sharjah Executive Council has decided to give a 50% rebate on traffic fines to encourage motorists to minimize violations and abide by traffic rules. The discount will be available until January 31, 2020, on all the infringements made before October 22, 2019. Any fine incurred after this date does not come under this initiative. Besides a 50% rebate, motorists will enjoy cancellation of the black points as well.
Major-General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of the Sharjah Police, said on Tuesday, “This is a move that is expected to encourage motorists to clear their debts”.

Motorists can pay the fine on any police station as well as through other means. Maj-Gen Al Shamsi welcomed the government’s efforts to improve the security and safety of road users in Sharjah

It is not the first time Sharjah Police is offering a 50% discount on traffic fines. They also gave a rebate in 2017 to celebrate its 50th anniversary of operations.
