The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Dubai has announced the auction date of Expo 2020 number plates to mark the significance of the show and spread awareness among masses. The auction will take place on September 28 at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel. However, interested bidder must register before the auction, which starts from tomorrow.

RTA is providing only twenty Expo 2020 number plates together with hundred special registration plates including two to five-digit numbers. These plates will use letters from H to Z apart from J and Y.

Anyone keen to buy Expo 2020 number plates should register at RTA website or visit any of the RTA’s Customer Happiness Centers in Umm Al Ramool, Deira or Barsha. People can also register on the auction day at 2 pm. The auction will start at 4 pm.

“T50, which is part of an exciting collection of plates on offer, is expected to attract massive attention from number plate enthusiasts,” stated Abdullah Yousuf Al Ali, CEO of the RTA’s Licensing Agency. “For the first time, we will also auction 20 plates with the Expo logo on them in recognition of the most important event to be happening in the UAE next year: Expo 2020.”

Najeeb Mohammed Al Ali, Executive Director of Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau, stated: “The plate numbers that will carry the Expo logo were chosen to help spread awareness about the world’s greatest show.”

Interested bidders must also know that they have to pay 5% VAT on the Expo 2020 number plates along with a Dh25,000 security deposit to RTA Dubai. Additionally, they have to submit a non-refundable participation fee of Dh120. For details, call at the toll-free number: 800 9090.
