While 2020 Corvette Stingray is all where on the news these days for good reasons, how can we forget the upcoming 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500, which will go on sale this fall. The American automaker recently unveiled its 0-161-0 kph (0-100-0 mph) time, which is phenomenal. The sports car can achieve this feat in only 10.6 seconds, thanks to new transmission and powerful Brembo brakes.

Ford joined hands with Tremec to create a seven-speed, Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). The remarkable thing about this is that it gears up in just 80 milliseconds, which is extraordinary response time. Besides, the DCT manages the supercharged 5.2L V8 engine churning out 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque. The power goes to the rear wheels. The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will be able to complete the quarter-mile run in an average 11 seconds.

The second thing, which enables the new Shelby GT500 to reach to 100 mph and come to a complete stop in a quick time, is the sturdy Brembo brakes, which Ford claims to be the best in its class. The two-piece front rotors are 16.5 inches (420 millimeters) long featuring extra sweep area, and thermal mass compared to the other cars in Ford’s lineup.

The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will set you back $73,995 and can be very expensive if you go for the optional equipment. For example, the $18,500 Carbon Fiber Track Package, boasting 20-inch carbon wheels, an adjustable rear wing, and front splitter wickers as well as handling & technology packages takes the total close to six figures.
