The German automaker has introduced their smallest crossover, the Audi A1 Citycarver, which is based on A1 Sportback. Audi says it can perfectly drive “in the city, on country roads and highways, and even on slightly rough terrain,” thanks to the lifted suspension and better ground clearance.

The mini crossover is 13.3 feet longer and 2.0 inches taller than the A1 Sportback. Those who look for an extra lift can opt for 18 inches wheels. To make it more capable offroad, the automaker added extra aluminum body cladding, updated wheel arches and side sills in different black color, and a unique Singleframe radiator grille. Moreover, the customers would be able to choose among nine exterior paints with two different roof choices.

The interior gives the traditional Audi vibes thanks to additional treatments on the air vents, center tunnel console, and door cards. Furthermore, Audi is offering four equipment packages, including basic, advanced, design selection, and S-Line.

Audi remained tight-lipped about the powertrain, however, considering the 2020 A1 Citycarver is based on the A1 Sportback, we expect it to carry a 1.4L four-cylinder turbo unit good for 200 horsepower. The entry-level crossover may also offer a three-cylinder unit with 95 hp.

The 2020 Audi A1 Citycarver will hit the European roads in the last quarter of this year. The first customers will be able to get their hands on the Edition One model with unique accents. Audi did not reveal the price yet, and we also do not know if they plan to offer it in the UAE. Considering its size and people’s growing love for the crossovers, it would be a good addition to our market.
