As Bentley reaches its 100 years of excellence, the automaker brings something extraordinary to cheer about. Meet the Bentley EXP 100 GT concept, debuted on July 10, depicting brands next three decades of design and tech philosophy. The concept features zero emissions and self-driving capability, showing the brand’s intention to keep up with the future demands of driving and comfort.
Starting with the powertrain, the Bentley EXP 100 GT concept is an electric car with 435 miles of range. The electric motors and batteries would be powerful enough to enable the vehicle to hit 60 mph in less than 2.5 seconds. That’s incredibly fast pitting it against the likes of Bugatti Chiron. Bentley is using highly advanced batteries, which are five times better than the currently-used batteries in the automotive sector. May be due to the low weight of these batteries, the concept car just weighs 4,188 pounds.
The concept allows the driver to either opt for the full self-driving mode or drive it himself. Inside, it offers a digital assistant, which can take commands through voice or hand gestures. The assistant can guide drivers on the right path and make other suggestions helpful for their journey.
In the autonomous drive mode, the cabin offers a range of modes including Enhance, Cocoon, Capture, and Re-Live. For instance, the Capture mode remembers your experiences from the previous trip and repeat the best parts using Re-Live.
While we are not sure if Bentley has any plans to build the EXP 100 GT, we expect to see some of the features in the upcoming cars. We believe the forthcoming Bentley EV will use some of the new technologies the automaker introduced in this concept.
