Audi has introduced the 2020 Audi S8 with more power and better handling. The next-generation S8 takes its power from the updated twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 pumping out 571 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. It is an increase of 121 horsepower over the ongoing model, which shows us how hard Audi worked on improving this engine. Talking about the S8 Plus, the same engine becomes monstrous and creates 605 hp and 517 lb-ft of torque.
This high-performance version of A8 comes standard with an all-wheel drive, which is assisted by a 48-volt mild hybrid system. This system brings to the table faster restarts, cylinder deactivation, and the coasting function, which will be available only in the European models.
Audi does not only focus on the performance with the new 2020 Audi S8, but it has also made many changes in the suspension and chassis for more relaxed driving. The predictive active suspension, Comfort+ driving mode, all-wheel steering, Audi’s sport differential, etc., all make the driving smooth at high speeds.
Several elements make the S8 different from the A8. However, safety, driver-assistance facilities, and even Audi’s latest dual-screen infotainment system come from the A8.
The pricing details are not revealed yet, but we know it will be a lot higher than the 2019 A8, which starts at AED 359,100 in the UAE.
