Most of us might not have heard the name De Tomaso and rightly so because the Italian performance car brand packed up their operations six decades ago. The good news is they are back, all set to make a powerful impression with their ultra-gorgeous De Tomaso P72 supercar.

Founded by Alejandro de Tomaso, the brand’s revival has been made possible with the help of   Ideal TeamVenture that is popular because of the Apollo Intensa Emozione.

The De Tomaso P72 pays tribute to the P70 prototype racer introduced in the 1960s by the brand. The model was made with the joint efforts of Alejandro de Tomaso and Carroll Shelby. This modern supercar is designed by Jowyn Wong, of Wyn Design. He made it look not only stylish but also aerodynamically efficient while keeping the old-fashioned cues of the P70. Inside, it is adorned with buffed copper, diamond shape detailing, the typically fabricated switchgear, and round analog display dials.

The P72 is built around a customized carbon fiber monocoque structure to keep the weight low and meet up the Le Mans protection standards. The maker said the production versions would carry the same stuff as seen in the prototype revealed at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

While it looks a very promising supercar, only 72 units will be built for worldwide markets, which will make it a rare car to spot in the streets of UAE. The pricing details aren’t revealed yet, but reportedly it will hover around $850,000 mark.

We heard the brand have plans to introduce more cars in the future.
