Renault has launched the 2020 Renault Captur featuring a design enthused by the Clio. Underpinned by the Renault’s CMF-B platform, the new crossover includes 85% new components compared to the ongoing version. It is not only bigger in dimensions but is also lighter and more aerodynamic to render better performance.

Renault has given it 2 cm longer wheelbase and fitted 18-inch wheels on it. When it comes to exterior look, the automaker provides customers a choice of 11 colors, four distinct roof shades, and three customization plans to select a shade of their liking.

On the inside, the interior looks similar to the new Clio. We see a big vertical screen on the dash and flying console for enhanced storage. The 2020 Renault Captur offers 18.92 cubic feet (536 liters) of boot space, which is exceptionally high for a crossover. Moreover, inside, we find 0.95 cu-ft (27 liters) of storage space.

Talking about the powertrains, the 2020 Renault Captur gives us several options. It starts with the 1.0-L and 1.3-L gasoline engines generating 100 to 155 horsepower (74 to 115 kilowatts). Those who love to drive a diesel can get their hands on a 1.5-liter dCi good for either 95-hp (71-kW) or 115-hp (85-kW). The engines will mate to a five-, six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Those who like to switch to electrified powertrains would be happy to know that Renault is planning to introduce a plug-in hybrid next year with 45 kilometers of clean electric range.

The driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, a self-parking system, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.

The sales will start soon; however, the starting price is not confirmed yet. The 2019 Captur starts at AED 57,900.
